‘Lies cannot govern’: Ex-Trump ‘fixer’ predicts ‘blue tsunami’ after this city’s election

One of President Donald Trump’s former “fixers” on Sunday predicted a “Blue Tsunami” would sweep the U.S. after seeing the election results in Aurora, Colorado.

For the last decade, Aurora has been under majority Republican rule. In that time, the city has implemented popular Republican policies such as moving to audit nonprofits that serve immigrants, creating a work-and-treatment-first system to address homelessness, and turning the city into a lightning rod over the Tren de Aragua gang.

However, voters rejected those Republican policies on November 4 when they elected a slate of progressive lawmakers to fill city hall.

Michael Cohen, who earned the moniker of Trump’s “fixer” for the role he played in former pornstar Stormy Daniels’ hush-money trial against Trump, discussed the election results in a new Substack essay published on Sunday.

“Trump underestimated exactly what Aurora proved: lies can travel far, but they cannot govern,” Cohen wrote. “Fear can get you clicks, but it cannot fix a single streetlight. Exaggeration can fill an arena, but it cannot fill a grocery store.”

“Aurora’s voters didn’t ignore crime. They didn’t ignore immigration. They didn’t ignore the real issues in their neighborhoods,” Cohen continued. “They simply recognized that scapegoating immigrants wasn’t going to bring them fresh food, lower rent, or a city council that listens. They realized they were being used as extras in someone else’s political film.”

“So they rewrote the script,” he added.

Cohen added that Aurora’s elections could be a sign that Republicans are about to face a “blue tsunami” in the 2026 midterm election.

“And here we are, watching as the blue tsunami rolled in; not because the Democratic Party suddenly discovered a magic message, but because voters rediscovered their own power to reject bulls—,” he added.
