Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) lit up a Fox News producer to his face on Wednesday, who implored her to appear on the show of far-right pundit Jesse Watters.
“Jesse Watters would like to invite you on his show,” said the producer.
“Oh, that’s nice,” said Ocasio-Cortez.
“Would you join him?” the producer followed up.
“He has sexualized me on his show, he has sexually harassed me on his show,” replied Ocasio-Cortez by way of answer. “He has engaged in horrific sexually exploitative rhetoric.”
The producer protested, saying, “That’s not true.”
“It is true, because he accused me of wanting to sleep with Stephen Miller,” shot back Ocasio-Cortez. “So why don’t you tell me what you think is acceptable to tell a woman?”
She then stormed away.
Ocasio-Cortez is referring to a segment last year in which Watters said she “wants to sleep with Miller … it is so obvious,” a remark that even his co-host Greg Gutfeld distanced himself from and said was “creepy.”
Fox News has had to pay out millions of dollars in fines and legal settlements over a long-established pattern of sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation complaints brought against hosts and network bigwigs by various women who have worked for the network.
Miller, a senior adviser and speechwriter for Trump, has become notorious for making racist and xenophobic comments, going so far as to parrot Nazi propaganda to write Trump’s speeches.
