‘Diseased animal!’ Pardoned J6 rioters cuss and jeer at Capitol police during march

Pardoned participants in the riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, held a fifth anniversary march on Tuesday, where some demonstrators cussed and jeered at Capitol police officers, according to videos that circulated online.

Among the participants was Enrique Tarrio, a leader of the Proud Boys, who was sentenced to 22 years in prison for leading the charge against the Capitol before being pardoned by President Donald Trump during his second administration. The group chanted “Thanks for our pardons,” and “J6 was an inside job” during the rally, according to local reports.

“You’re like a diseased animal!” one participant told a police officer who confronted another marcher in a video posted by HuffPost reporter Arthur Delaney. “How dare you do that to a woman!”

The image was eerily similar to video from the Jan. 6, 2021, event, where Trump supporters attacked police officers with weapons and chemicals. Five police officers died from injuries sustained that day, and another officer took his own life because of the trauma he experienced.

Congress passed a law to create a plaque honoring the police officers who protected the Capitol that day, but Republicans have stalled the installation for years.

“Remember that guy with the baseball bat?” another protester shouted at a police officer walking with the protesters. “That was the f—— guy who licked you!”
