Republican makes stunning call in op-ed to ‘see Maduro executed’

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry (R) uncorked a stunning call Tuesday for Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro to possibly face execution following his capture and subsequent move to New York to face trial on drug trafficking charges.

The GOP firebrand didn’t mince words in a piece on Breitbart, declaring he’d like to see Maduro killed for flooding America with fentanyl.

“Personally, I’d like to see Maduro executed for the crimes he has committed against the people of the United States and the families left to mourn. However, I would be well satisfied to see him and his wife spend the rest of their days at Camp 57 in Angola,” wrote Landry.

The Republican pointed to the more than 800,000 Americans who have died from opioid overdoses, noting the vast majority died of a fentanyl overdose, a drug that found its way into the United States through various drug cartels. He claimed that one of the largest was the “illegitimate government of Venezuela,” run by Maduro.

Fentanyl is notably almost entirely produced in Mexico using chemicals from China, federal authorities have said. Venezuela plays no known role in trafficking the drug, though its primary role in the drug trade is as a transit country for cocaine.

Even so, Landry added, “Maduro was not a legitimate president; he is an indicted narco-terrorist,” as he backed Trump’s military action against the regime.

The governor framed the entire operation as a win-win: crushing the fentanyl pipeline while turbocharging Louisiana’s economy.

Landry wrapped up his wild manifesto by saluting the troops and warning leaders in Cuba, Colombia, and Mexico that their days are numbered.

“While the 47th President of the United States is in office, you and your regimes are no longer safe,” he warned.
