‘It’s insulting’: Outgoing GOP Rep trashes Trump’s ‘slap in the face’ to average Americans

An outgoing Republican member of Congress bashed President Donald Trump’s “slap in the face” for everyday Americans during a tense interview with NBC News’ Kristen Welker on Sunday.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who has declared herself as ex-MAGA, joined Welker on “Meet the Press” a day before Greene’s last day in Congress. Greene announced her resignation in November over “growing tensions” with Trump and the administration’s attempts to hide or obscure the Jeffrey Epstein files.

During the interview, Greene trashed some of Trump’s proposed policies to address the growing affordability crisis.

“My kids’ generation … are looking at a future where this entire generation doesn’t think they will ever see a social security payment, they don’t believe they will ever be able to afford to own their own home, and 50-year mortgages are really a slap in the face,” Greene said. “It’s insulting.”

“Americans don’t want $2,000 stimulus checks. They want good policies brought forth for them,” Greene continued.

Greene also called out Trump’s attempts to hide the fact that his policy agenda is harming the Americans he promised to help during the 2024 campaign.

“My understanding of America First is strictly for the American people, not for the big donors that donate to big politicians or the special interests that constantly roam the halls in Washington, and not foreign countries that constantly demand that America put their interests first,” she said.
