MAGA candidate scrambles as he’s pressed about kneeling after George Floyd’s death

A MAGA candidate for California governor had to fend off a tough question from a MAGA TV host on Tuesday over his previous support for the social justice movement following the death of George Floyd in 2020.

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco joined MAGA TV host Eric Bollingon his eponymous show on Tuesday to discuss the California governor’s race. During the interview, Bolling asked Bianco to respond to a report of him taking a knee in solidarity with protesters during the George Floyd movement.

“Everybody has to realize that there is absolutely nothing in my life, in my past, that I’ve said or done that would indicate anything of this,” Bianco said. “I’ve evolved over the last probably seven years as one of the nation’s leading law enforcement leaders in the nation, definitely in our state, and my county 100%.”

“I am the law enforcement leader of this county,” he continued. “That could never happen if I knelt to a domestic terrorist organization that hates cops. So, what we’re seeing now is political theater. We’re seeing the political nonsense that always happens when other candidates want to bring down someone else because of what they truly have to offer everyone.”

Bolling added that the clip of Bianco “lacked context.” Reporting from a local ABC News affiliate indicates Bianco “called on the crowd to work with him to make a difference.”

“We want you all to be here. We want you all to have this. We want your voices to be heard. We want to be heard together,” he said at the time.
