  • Beyoncé is worth $1 billion, according to Forbes’ estimates.
  • Much of her wealth is derived from her valuable musical catalog and touring revenue.
  • Here’s how the former Destiny’s Child star has built her fortune over the course of several decades.

In 2022, Beyoncé sang, “It should cost a billion to look this good.” Three years later, the “Pure/Honey” lyric proved prophetic when Beyoncé joined an exclusive group of billionaire musicians.

Combined with Jay-Z’s business empire, the Knowles-Carter family’s net worth now stands at roughly $3.5 billion, according to Forbes’ estimates.

Here’s a rundown of how Beyoncé has built her fortune over the course of several decades — and the glamorous ways she spends her money.

Beyoncé was born in 1981 in Houston. Her father, Matthew Knowles, was a sales executive with Xerox, and her mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, owned a hair salon.

At the age of 9, Beyoncé became a cofounding member of Destiny’s Child, originally known as Girl’s Tyme. Despite initial setbacks, including a loss on the TV show “Star Search,” the group was signed to Columbia Records in 1997.

Beyoncé and her bandmates went on to release four No. 1 singles in the US and sell over 50 million albums worldwide. In 2005, one year before they officially disbanded, the World Music Awards honored Destiny’s Child as the best-selling female group of all time.

Beyoncé released “Dangerously In Love” in 2003, setting her on the path of global solo stardom.

Beyoncé’s debut solo single, “Crazy In Love,” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her debut album, “Dangerously In Love,” followed suit on the Billboard 200.

Since going solo, Beyoncé has released eight No. 1 albums and nine No. 1 hit songs. She has the most Grammy Awards of any artist in history and the most certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) among female artists. Her collection of over 100 certified titles includes two diamond singles, “Halo” and “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It).”

Over two decades into her career, Beyoncé has an estimated net worth of $1 billion.

Beyoncé may be this century’s most celebrated pop star, but she’s also an entrepreneur.

In 2010, she launched Parkwood Entertainment, which she’s referred to as a “multipurpose badass conglomerate.” It’s run by a team that includes former executives from Apple, J.P. Morgan Chase, and Nokia.

In December 2025, Forbes named Beyoncé a billionaire, citing her valuable musical catalog, touring revenue, and in-house management structure.

Like many musicians, Beyoncé’s wealth is bolstered by live performances. The 2016 Formation World Tour grossed over $250 million.

Beyoncé’s 2016 album, “Lemonade,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and received unanimously positive reviews.

Later that year, Beyoncé embarked on the Formation World Tour. The all-stadium trek grossed about $256 million, per Billboard, helping her become the top-earning musician of 2016.

The following year, Beyoncé was named the highest-paid woman in music by Forbes.

In 2018, Beyoncé headlined Coachella and embarked on another top-selling tour with her husband.

Beyoncé was paid millions to headline Coachella in 2018 (although it’s unclear how much of that went toward staging the groundbreaking performance).

She cashed in again when Netflix acquired the rights to the concert film “Homecoming” as part of a three-project deal reportedly worth $60 million.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z also wrapped up their On the Run II Tour in October 2018, which grossed over $250 million, per Billboard.

Beyoncé’s seventh solo album, “Renaissance,” helped push her net worth to new heights.

Beyoncé’s acclaimed 2022 album, “Renaissance,” became Spotify’s most-streamed album by a female artist upon release. It has since been certified 2x platinum by the RIAA, meaning it has sold over 2 million copies.

That might sound like a standard amount of success for a star of Beyoncé’s stature, but it was the stadium tour that turned “Renaissance” into a massively lucrative era. The 2023 Renaissance World Tour, produced by Beyoncé’s own Parkwood Entertainment, grossed an estimated $579 million.

Later that year, the “Renaissance” concert film arrived in theaters. Beyoncé’s deal with AMC allowed her to pocket nearly half of the $44 million global box office gross.

AMC’s CEO, Adam Aron, said that “literally all” of the company’s revenue growth in Q4 of 2023 was thanks to Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, who released her own concert film around the same time.

Her windfall continued with “Cowboy Carter” and another stadium tour.

Beyoncé followed “Renaissance” with “Cowboy Carter” in 2024, a country-inspired album that served as a response to gatekeepers in Nashville. Like its predecessor, the album debuted at No. 1, spawned a No. 1 hit song, and received rave reviews from critics.

Later that year, Beyoncé and the NFL teamed up to leverage the album’s success, staging a special Christmas Day halftime show that was livestreamed on Netflix. Beyoncé made an estimated $50 million from the one-off performance, including production costs.

In 2025, Beyoncé embarked on the Cowboy Carter Tour, which reportedly grossed more than $400 million in ticket sales and an additional $50 million in merchandise sales, according to Forbes’ estimates.

Throughout her career, Beyoncé has starred in multiple blockbuster films.

Beyoncé’s big-screen breakout role came in 2002, when she played Foxxy Cleopatra in “Austin Powers in Goldmember.” The comedy was the seventh-highest-grossing film of the year.

She reportedly earned $12.5 million for her role in the 2006 film “Dreamgirls,” not counting additional earnings from the soundtrack.

Her company, Parkwood Entertainment, has produced films including “Cadillac Records” in 2008 and “Obsessed” in 2009. The latter, which starred Beyoncé opposite Idris Elba, grossed $74 million at the box office against a $20 million budget.

More recently, Beyoncé voiced Nala in Disney’s live-action remake of “The Lion King” in 2019. She was reportedly paid $25 million for her role in the film, which went on to gross over $1 billion at the box office. She also helmed the film’s soundtrack, “The Lion King: The Gift.”

In 2022, Beyoncé earned her first Oscar nomination for “Be Alive,” an original song from the biographical sports drama, “King Richard.”

In addition to music and movies, Beyoncé has made savvy investments.

Beyoncé reportedly held a “significant” stake in Jay-Z’s music streaming service, Tidal, which was sold for about $300 million in May 2021 to Jack Dorsey. She retained her stake and secured an $8.9 million payout, Variety reported.

In 2022, Beyoncé invested in Lemon Perfect, a startup that has raised $42.2 million and is now valued at more than $100 million.

Beyoncé has made millions from her bespoke brands.

Ivy Park, Beyoncé’s sports apparel brand, was first launched in collaboration with Topshop in 2016 before switching to Adidas in 2020. According to Fortune, Adidas paid Beyoncé about $20 million a year for the partnership.

Although Ivy Park was discontinued in 2024, Beyoncé has continued to expand her business empire with a hair-care brand, Cécred, and a whiskey label, SirDavis.

Beyoncé has made even more millions from advertisements and endorsements.

In 2012, Beyoncé signed a $50 million deal with Pepsi, the same year she was announced as the headliner for the next Super Bowl halftime show. During the big game, she appeared in a TV spot to promote the soft drink.

Beyoncé has also led campaigns for Giorgio Armani fragrances, Nintendo DS, H&M, L’Oréal, American Express, and Tommy Hilfiger’s fragrance True Star.

She made headlines with another Super Bowl spot in 2024, starring in an ad for Verizon, which she also used as a vehicle to tease new music.

Following the release of “Cowboy Carter,” which features a song called “Levii’s Jeans,” Beyoncé teamed up with the denim brand for a series of commercials. She earned an estimated $10 million from the partnership, per Forbes.

She also knows how to enjoy her riches.

Beyoncé is known for her impressive work ethic, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to relax.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been known to vacation in Brazil, Italy, and Ibiza. They often visit the Dominican Republic, where they stay in a $19.5 million, 35,000-square-foot estate.

When Beyoncé was pregnant with twins Rumi and Sir, she reportedly rented a villa in Malibu for $500,000 a month. The property sold for $50 million in 2018.

Beyoncé can also retreat to the private island in the Bahamas, purchased by Jay-Z for $4 million.

The Carter-Knowles family has spent vacations on the Galactica Star, a $73 million luxury yacht reportedly owned by Nigerian energy magnate Kola Aluko.

To stay on this exclusive yacht, you need to know the owner, but it will still cost a reported $900,000 a week.

A penthouse suite in the Hotel Le Meurice in Paris is another favored European getaway for the couple, which goes for $20,000 a night.

The couple has also spent plenty of money on real estate.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z purchased a Malibu home for $200 million in 2023. Just steps away from the ocean, it’s the most expensive home ever sold in California and the second-most expensive property deal in US history.

That’s in addition to a whole portfolio of properties, including an $88 million Bel-Air mansion in Los Angeles, the $4.45 million converted church in the Garden District of New Orleans, a Tribeca penthouse apartment, and a $26 million, seven-bedroom mansion in the Hamptons.

Beyoncé is said to own a $2 million 2010 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport and a custom $1 million Mercedes van with its own washroom and $150,000 sound system.

It has been reported that she and Jay-Z purchased a one-of-a-kind Boat Tail Rolls-Royce for $20 million, complete with a “Blue Ivy” leather interior and a refrigerator holding Armand de Brignac Champagne.

Additionally, The Telegraph reported that Beyoncé bought Jay-Z a $40 million Bombardier Challenger 850 private jet as a Father’s Day gift.

She spends money on events and outings, from NBA games to the finest restaurants.

Beyoncé and her family are regulars at NBA games, where the average cost of a courtside ticket is about $2,000, according to Sportskeeda.

She and Jay-Z have been spotted at Le Cirque, one of New York’s most exclusive restaurants, and in 2013, they reportedly spent almost $100,000 on drinks for VIP guests at an Atlanta nightclub.

At home, Beyoncé is said to employ a live-in chef who earns $7,500 a month and a dietician who earns $4,000 a month. However, while on the Renaissance tour, she hired a vegan chef and three personal chefs for herself and her inner circle, according to The New York Times.

She spares no expense when it comes to gifts for her family.

For her first birthday, Beyoncé’s eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, was reportedly given an $80,000 diamond-encrusted Barbie doll, in addition to a $100,000 birthday party and a $600,000 gold rocking horse.

All three children of Beyoncé’s children have been decked out in designer clothes. Blue Ivy has been spotted wearing a dress by designer Mischka Aoki, which is worth more than $8,000.

Beyoncé has also donated millions to charity and social enterprises.

In 2013, Beyoncé launched the BeyGood initiative. It has since evolved into a public charity foundation, dedicated to supporting students, local business owners, and victims of natural disasters with personal grants and direct aid. In 2020, BeyGood announced a $6 million relief initiative for essential workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
