A former GOP speechwriter bashed President Donald Trump on Wednesday after the president went on a late-night “hate tweeting” session.
Late Tuesday night, Trump fired off a series of posts on Truth Social about late-night television hosts who have criticized him. For instance, he asked his more than 11.2 million followers which of the large networks has the worst late-night show, and claimed the hosts had “no talent.” He also appeared to threaten to revoke the broadcast licensesof networks that are “100% negative” against him.
“If Network NEWSCASTS, and their Late Night Shows, are almost 100% Negative to President Donald J. Trump, MAGA, and the Republican Party, shouldn’t their very valuable Broadcast Licenses be terminated? I say, YES!” Trump wrote.
Tim Miller, host of “The Bulwark Podcast,” reacted to Trump’s late-night tweet storm in a new “Bulwark Takes” video on Wednesday.
“I hope you don’t have anyone in your life behaving like the President of these United States on this holy holiday,” Miller said. “The president was up late last night, around midnight hate-tweeting the television.”
“You’d think that this was drinking, or drunk, posting. He doesn’t even drink,” Miller said. “He just is so barren and soulless that he cannot find community or validation from any other way besides bleating about how much he hates the stories on the TV.”
