Jimmy Kimmel Wishes Trump Wouldn’t Yell at Us on Live TV

Welcome to Late Night Roundup, a rundown of the previous night’s highlights that lets you sleep — and lets us get paid to watch comedy. Here are the 50 best movies on Netflix right now.

Inheriting a Mess

President Trump delivered a prime-time address to the nation about the economy on Wednesday night, in a speedy, defensive manner that late-night hosts seized upon.

On Thursday, Jimmy Kimmel summed it up as “18 straight minutes of him yelling.”

“He was shouting, he was racing through the script,” Kimmel said.

“It’s like the whole country got to experience what it was like to be Eric in the eighth grade.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

“But while his delivery was erratic, his message was insane.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

“He packed a lot of crap into 18 minutes. At some points, it was hard to tell if he was giving a speech or having a seizure on TV.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

“He opened by saying, ‘Good evening, America. Eleven months ago, I inherited a mess.’ And most Americans heard and were like, ‘So did we.’” — JIMMY FALLON

“I mean, there were so many lies. Eleven fact checkers died watching that speech last night.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

“Maybe we’ll get lucky and in a few years he’ll leave us for a younger, hotter country.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

The Punchiest Punchlines (Night Before Epstein Edition)

“It’s Epstein Files Eve. Don’t forget to leave Santa some cookies and a barf bag.” — STEPHEN COLBERT

“How do your families do it? Do you open the files at midnight or do you wait until the next morning?” — JIMMY FALLON

“That’s right. Right now, Santa’s making a list, and Trump’s frantically denying that he was on it.” — JIMMY FALLON
