Disgraced South Carolina pastor, John-Paul Miller, stalked and posted a naked photo of his estranged wife before her suicide: feds

The disgraced South Carolina pastor, whose wife fatally shot herself after slapping him with divorce papers, has been accused of posting her nude photo online and stalking her for two years before her death.

John-Paul Miller, 46, was indicted Thursday for cyberstalking and making false statements after tormenting his estranged spouse, Mica Miller, from November 2022 until she died by suicide on April 27, 2024, according to the US Attorney’s Office for the District of South Carolina.

Prosecutors said the controversial Myrtle Beach pastor bombarded his wife with repeated unwanted messages — including contacting her 50 times in a single day — placed tracking devices on her car and slashed her tires on one occasion.

Miller, who previously worked a Solid Rock Church in the coastal city, also sabotaged Mica’s fiances and daily life, and shared an explicit photo of her online without her consent, according to the indictment.

Authorities charged that the scandal-plagued preacher lied when federal investigation questioned him about tampering with his wife’s car, despite evidence showing he bought a tire deflation device and boasted to others about what he had done.

Mica Miller, 30, an aspiring missionary and worship leader, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head at the Lumber River State Park near Orrum, North Carolina, last year.

She had reportedly served her husband divorce papers just 48 hours prior.

Miller, who remarried less than a year later in June to a widow whose parishioner husband also died by suicide in suspicious circumstances tied to the pastor, has since denied any involvement in the death of his late wife, and previously accused her family of keeping her off her medication.

But Mica, before her death, had accused Miller of slashing her tires, installing a tracking device on her car, hospitalizing her against her will – and “grooming” her beginning when she was just 10 years old.

The embatteld pastor was also hit with two sexaul assault lawsuits by anonymous accusers. He also denied the accusations and launched a defamation countersuit in one of the cases.

Miller faces up to five years behind bars for cyberstalking and fines of up to $250,000, officials said.

He will be arraigned in a Florence federal court on Jan. 12.
