Heartbroken Tara Reid speaks out after police close investigation into her drugging claim: Everyone’s ‘twisting reality’

Tara Reid is speaking out after police closed down the investigation into her claims she was drugged at a bar in Chicago last month.

The entire ordeal is “truly heartbreaking,” the “American Pie” actress’s representative shared with Page Six on Wednesday.

“All of the bullying I have been subjected to since and everyone twisting reality without the facts they weren’t even there to witness is truly affecting my mental health, and I need it to stop,” she said.

“They are making it seem like I chugged all this wine at once and ended up on a stretcher, but after reviewing the footage that is not what happened at all,” she explained.

“In fact I witnessed in the footage when I arrived back from smoking with the person I only took one sip of wine in over 30 minutes and when the bartender asked me if I wanted another drink I signalled no because I still had a drink I didn’t barely touch,” she claimed.

Reid also told the Daily Mailon Wednesday that 33 minutes of footage of the Nov. 23 incident — during which she was seen in a wheelchair in a hotel lobby before being taken out on a stretcher — was unaccounted for.

A Rosemont, Ill., police spokesperson told People on Wednesday that the case had been closed on Dec. 11, explaining that “no other evidence” had been found to support Reid’s claim.

“We don’t want to say what she’s claiming is false,” the spokesperson said, adding that there were stretches of time “not seen” on the surveillance video.

They noted that they could only investigate the footage they had access to, which they felt did not provide proof of an alleged drugging. “That’s all we can do,” the spokesperson said.

A rep for Reid did not immediately return Page Six’s request for further comment.

The actress, 50, told Page Six on Dec. 8 that she felt “judged”as footage of the incident proliferated in the media.

“I’ve been honest about the fact that I don’t remember anything after my first drink,” she told us.

“All I said was that I felt something was wrong and that I felt I may have been drugged, because I have no other explanation for why I woke up in a hospital gown with no memory of how I got there.”

She added that it “has been incredibly painful” to see people “twist [her] words and attack [her]” for not remembering details of what allegedly transpired.

“I feel bullied and judged for something I cannot recall. I’m trying to heal, but the public scrutiny is making that very difficult, and I’ve been afraid to even leave my house,” she said.

“No one ends up in the hospital for around 11 hours from drinking wine alone. I hadn’t taken any medication that day, and I know something wasn’t right.”

The “Sharknado” star first spoke out in November about an alleged drugging after footage showed her being removed from a Chicago hotel bar on a stretcher.

The “Van Wilder” actress told Page Six at the time that she checked into her room and then headed to the bar, where she encountered YouTubers in the lobby.

She claimed one of them later joined her for a cigarette, and that when she returned to the bar, her drink was covered by a napkin — which she didn’t do, she explained to TMZ.

Reid alleged she woke up in a hospital eight hours later, claiming doctors informed her she’d been drugged.

She filed a police report obtained by Page Six in November hat stated she was “willing to prosecute” — however, initial surveillance findings failed to reveal evidence of misconduct, the Rosemont Public Safety Department said on Dec. 3.

“While video surveillance showed Tara Reid at the hotel bar, at no time did video show anyone tampering with or adding something to her drink,” they said in a statement earlier this month.

“We can confirm that a bartender covered her drink when she left the bar which is standard practice for bartenders to do.”

The message concluded by stating that authorities found “no criminal act that has been committed” in the case.
