‘Very bright red line’: Trump legal ally panics over Supreme Court’s ‘crucial’ next choice

A Donald Trump-associated legal ally on Sunday warned the Supreme Court about a “very bright red line” it must not cross in connection with “the most crucial case of the term.”

Former GOP staffer Mike Davis, who has made headlines for his social media comments in the past, and was rumored to be on Trump’s list for attorney general, chimed in on social media about the case he sees as a priority for the top court.

According to Davis, “The Supreme Court is going to decide the most crucial case of the term: Whether children of foreign invaders, including Islamist terrorists and other criminal illegal aliens, get birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment.”

He continued:

“The answer is clearly no. They are not ‘subject to the jurisdiction of the United States,’ as required by the 14th Amendment. Let’s see if the justices have the courage to follow the plain language, original public understanding, and 127-year-old precedent. Answer this dispositive question: If the children of American Indians did not get birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment (Congress gave them statutory birthright citizenship in 1924), how the hell would illegal aliens? They don’t.”

Davis finally concluded with, “This is a very bright red line.”
