Erika Kirk, the widow to the assassinated MAGA commentator Charlie Kirk, was put on the spot late Saturday night when she was confronted by the last man to speak to Kirk, and was asked to condemn actions made by Donald Trump.
Appearing on a CBS News town hall, Hunter Kozak, the Utah student who asked Charlie Kirk the last question he was ever asked at a campus event where the shooting ultimately occurred, stood up to ask Kirk to encourage the president to turn down the temperature as it relates to political violence.
After saying he appreciates Erika Kirk’s calls for peace, Kozak said Trump is “the most powerful and influential person on earth,” and then brought up the president’s desire to put lawmakers to death for a video they made.
“Will you condemn the violent rhetoric of Donald Trump?” Kozak asked her directly.
Erika Kirk said, “You know my heart. Why would I ever say, yes, go murder people?”
Without answering the actual question, she added, “This starts at the home. This starts with family.”
“What you consume and what you absorb from the outside world will manifest itself,” she said. “No, I will never agree with political violence.”
