Ex-Fox News host calls for Trump aide to be ‘fired immediately’ after president’s screw up

This Trump habit is a perfect reflection of the nation he’s created: analyst

Donald Trump released false information about an active shooter on Saturday, despite claiming to have been fully briefed on the matter, leading one prominent conservative to call for the “immediate” firing of the individual who provided the faulty information to the president.

Trump claimed that a suspect had been taken into custody in an active shooter situation at Brown University in Rhode Island, despite the fact that all major media outlets were reporting that no one had been arrested yet. That led some students to beg others not to listen to Trump, and analysts declared the situation to be “absolute chaos.”

After the screw up, former Fox News radio Todd Starnes, who has made headlines in the past, chimed in on social media about who would ultimately be blamed.

“Whoever briefed President Trump on the Brown University shooting – and provided him with erroneous information – should be fired – immediately,” Starnes wrote. “What is going on with the Justice Department?”

Fringe Trump ally Laura Loomer also weighed in, sharing Starnes’ quote and using it to plant conspiracy theories.

“Interesting to see this mass shooting take place the day before the first night of Hanukkah… I wonder if the shooter shouted Allahu Akbar,” she wrote Saturday night. “Will be interesting to see. How come we don’t have any information about the shooter? Surely someone saw the shooter before they fled.”
