Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is thrilled about Stephen Miller’s promotion to White House chief of staff, and he borrowed a famous 2020 election-denial slogan to say so.
“Next to me, Stephen Miller is the strongest MAHA supporter in the administration,” Kennedy wrote on X on Friday, quoting the White House’s announcement that Miller would replace Susie Wiles. “It’s time to unleash the Kraken.”
The line is a callback to Sidney Powell, the former Trump campaign lawyer who promised to “release the Kraken” in 2020 with lawsuits that she said would overturn Joe Biden’s election win. Those lawsuits failed.
Powell herself was among those cheering.
“HOT DAMN LFG,” Powell wrote. “Best possible choice for COS. Brilliant and fearless! No more mamby-pamby.”
Kennedy’s post came hours after a former deputy, MAHA activist Calley Means, went on Joe Rogan’s podcast and accused Wiles of standing in the way of the Make America Healthy Again agenda. According to The Atlantic, Means said Wiles sided with pesticide, tobacco and food-industry interests during policy debates.
Michael Flynn Jr., son of Trump’s former national security adviser, picked up on the subtext. “Sounds like RFK was itchin for Susie to go….” he wrote. “UNLEASH THE KRAKEN!!”
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) wrote, “MAHA MANIA!!” Children’s Health Defense, the anti-vaccine group Kennedy founded, posted, “Let’s goooo!!!” Right-wing activist Jack Posobiec simply wrote, “Unleash.”
Katie Miller, the new chief of staff’s wife, shared a clip of Trump praising Kennedy: “I’m going to let him go wild on health. I’m going to let him go wild on the food. I’m going to let him go wild on medicines.”
Not everyone was ready to celebrate. Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) turned the moment into a list of demands.
“Cool,” Greene wrote. “Will you now pull FDA approval of the Covid vaccines that never stopped the spread of Covid, while the vaccinated still get Covid, and over a million reports have been filed for vaccine injuries and death? And will you now remove glyphosate protection?”
