Far-right activist Laura Loomer, a close ally of President Donald Trump, spent election night declaring the death of the United States as Democrats took control of Congress.
“Democrats now control the House and Senate. America is over,” Loomer posted on X Tuesday night. “Many of us warned for years about the Islamic-communist takeover of America. Our country only declines from here. It’s best for people to come to terms with the death of our country sooner rather than later.”
When an X user told her that “this meltdown has been fun to watch,” Loomer insisted it wasn’t one.
“Not a meltdown. Just reality. Our country is over. I’ve been saying it for years,” she wrote. “I even said that President Trump would only be able to slow the burn but our country would always eventually collapse. All empires collapse eventually and I said earlier this year, America 250 is funeral.”
She went on to urge Americans to prepare for the worst.
“The best thing Americans can do is just work, provide for their families, arm themselves, and be vigilant because massive political violence and terrorism is coming to America and everyone should just focus on surviving, stockpiling food and firearms and protecting their families,” Loomer wrote. “America was always going to end. It was only an experiment with a shelf life. It’s now expired. We all die someday. And that includes America.”
Loomer also told her followers that faith wouldn’t help them.
“God isn’t going to save you from Islam,” she wrote. “People need to stop using religion as a cope for refusing to come to terms with the Islamic communist takeover of America. You aren’t going to pray your way out of Sharia Law and communism.”
Throughout the night, she also posted a running commentary on the results.
“Greg Abbott has just been defeated. Texas now has a Democrat Senator and a Democrat Governor. Texas is now blue,” she wrote. Later she posted: “I feel bad for people who are having kids right now in America. There’s no future in our country now…”
She also turned on Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) after he congratulated Democrat James Talarico on winning the Texas Senate seat. Cornyn had written that he looked forward “to meeting him and offering my assistance with his transition.”
“John Cornyn says he’s looking forward to helping communist @jamestalarico,” Loomer responded.
And when CBS News’ Weijia Jiang reported that Trump’s message to Americans was “congratulations to the Democrats, and I look forward to working with you for the good of our country,” Loomer pushed back.
“There is no good that can come from working with people who want to impeach you and kill you,” she wrote. “Democrats don’t want to work with Trump. They want to murder him and his supporters.”
She instead urged Trump to go on the offensive. “Hopefully President Trump is more vengeful in the next 2 years of his administration,” Loomer wrote. “It’s time for him to take vetting seriously and purge the radical left.” In another post, she wrote: “Time for President Trump to deal with Iran once and for all. Just do it. Nothing to lose now. Finish the job.”
Not everyone on the right was sympathetic. Harrison H. Smith, a host for the far-right outlet Infowars, listed Loomer among those he blamed for the losses, writing, “You lost us these midterms. Everyone knows it.”
“You are an absolute oxygen thief,” Loomer fired back.
