Bill Belichick put his foot down when asked about his bombshell breakup with Jordon Hudson.
WRAL journalist Brian Murphy asked the North Carolina Tar Heels football head coach if he had “any comment” on his split during a press conference on Monday.
“Do you work for a tabloid now?” Belichick asked Murphy. “I’ll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that’s alright with you.”

The former NFL coach was questioned about his relationship with the cheerleader after news broke Friday that they quietly split last year.
According to TMZ, Belichick, 74, and Hudson, 25, called it quits in late 2025 and have stayed “committed to their business partnerships and remain close friends.”
The Daily Mail later reported that the exes “took a step back” so that Belichick could focus on football, his “first love.”

A source told the outlet that the duo “mutually agreed” the separation “was the best thing for both of them,” “rather than let things get more complicated or allow resentment to build.”
“He was thinking about taking the next steps with her, getting engaged, getting married, and building a future together, while also dealing with the constant attention and outside scrutiny that came with being in such a high-profile relationship,” the insider explained, adding that they became overwhelmed with the public scrutiny.
Additionally, Belichick and Hudson allegedly decided “not to tell anyone” about their breakup last year to avoid “another media circus.”

Belichick and Hudson, however, proved they remain on amicable terms by stepping out together to the Kentucky Derby in May.
At the time, they appeared in good spirits while smiling and holding hands at Churchill Downs in Louisville.
Hudson also attended the UNC vs. Syracuse football game in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on Oct. 24.

Belichick and Hudson first crossed paths in 2021 when they were on the same flight, and he signed her textbook.
They were first reported to be dating in June 2024, and stepped out together that December at New York City’s Museum Gala.
Throughout their relationship, they’ve faced public scrutiny for their age difference, but an insider previously told Page Six that Belichick didn’t mind their 49-year gap.
