A business jet crashed in a West Palm Beach, Florida, neighborhood Sunday afternoon, killing all nine people on board, Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy said, calling it a “horrific tragedy.”
The Learjet 60 departed Austin and was headed to the Bahamas when it crashed in a residential neighborhood around 12:50 p.m., the Federal Aviation Administration said.
“Please join me in praying for the families and loved ones of those we lost,” Duffy said.
In a statement on X, the National Transportation Safety Board said it is launching a go-team to investigate the crash. Investigators are arriving at the accident site Sunday and Monday morning, the NTSB said.
The Federal Aviation Administration is also sending a team to support the NTSB’s investigation into the crash, Duffy said.
