She pulled the vintage fur coat up to her bare chest, tilted her rouged lips and curled blond hair toward the wall of velvet behind her, and smiled. Between red-painted fingernails, she pinched a fake ballot above a box marked “VOTE!”
For this woman, an adult entertainment director, producer and actor known as Siouxsie Q, the advertising campaign isn’t about money. It’s about democracy.
On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, her image will be one of four featured atop of one of the most visited websites in the country: Pornhub. People who click on the banner will be redirected to a page helping them find their nearest polling place, early voting site or drop box. Siouxsie Q is a founder of Hot2Vote, a voter advocacy group that works with adult content creators to promote civic engagement. The nonprofit bought the ad space to encourage Pornhub’s audience of millions to vote in the midterm elections.
The campaign will appear on every mobile device in the country that uses Pornhub, featuring faces the site’s visitors may already be familiar with.
And then there are the slogans. “YOU + ME + THE VOTING BOOTH! LET’S DO IT THIS TUESDAY!” is plastered across Siouxsie Q’s Marilyn Monroe homage. “MAKE A DATE WITH DEMOCRACY!” another banner implores, the hot pink typeface adjacent to a photo of actress Casey Calvert in a lacy pink brassiere and a pearl choker.
“I’ve been very blessed to have fans that are not turned off by my activism,” Siouxsie Q said. “Actually, turned on.”
This is the first time Pornhub has featured public interest advertising on its platform, according to Hot2Vote. The group declined to share the cost of the ad buy. Pornhub did not respond to a request for comment.
Scott Goodstein, a digital strategist who focuses on online organizing and led digital strategy for Barack Obama’s and Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaigns, is one of the producers of the campaign.
Goodstein argues the adult entertainment space is an untapped and influential space for digital organizing and advocacy. Adult film stars may be more effective than other online influencers, he said, because of the intimate relationship they share with their audience.
The four creators featured in the campaign have a combined social media following of about 2 million. According to Semrush’s traffic analytics estimates, Pornhub received an average of more than 20 million visits per day last month. In 2025, 72 percent of users in the U.S. were male, and nearly half of visitors were between the ages of 18 and 34, according to Pornhub’s 2025 “Year in Review” report.
Calvert, who will appear on millions of screens this week in the Pornhub campaign, has been in the industry for more than a decade. She knows many fans are busy and not tuned in to politics, she said. In previous years, she hasn’t always paid attention.
Now Calvert hopes to “cut through the standard stereotypical messaging that people receive all the time,” she said, “and remind them, like, ‘Hey, this is important,’ in a place that they aren’t used to seeing that kind of messaging.”
