President Donald Trump gleefully dusted off the vulgar insult that landed him in hot water during his first term, drawing roaring laughter at a Georgia rally Saturday — even as he botched his own infamous line.
In early 2018, reports circulated that Trump had referred to certain countries like Haiti and some African nations as “s—hole” countries. Trump initially denied having used such language, but on Saturday, appeared all too happy to claim ownership for the vulgar remarks — albeit, in a misremembered form.
“Terror-infested countries like Libya, Yemen, Haiti, Somalia… remember what I called them? S—-house countries,” Trump said, sparking thunderous laughter and applause from rally attendees. “Remember the heat I took? Remember the heat I took from the Democrats? I remember, those sleazy guys.”
It wasn’t the first time Trump embraced the remark. At a December 2025 rally in Pennsylvania, he confirmed that he had used the phrase “s—hole countries,” nearly eight years after his initial denial.
