An obese Georgia death row inmate requested a greasy, gluttonous buffet-style spread packed with thousands of calories for his last meal ahead next week.
Stacey Humphreys, 52, will be put to death by lethal injection next Wednesday, but he has one final pig out planned.
He requested to dine on a nauseating spread of barbecue beef brisket, pork ribs, a bacon double cheeseburger, french fries, coleslaw, cornbread, buffalo wings, a meat lover’s pan pizza, and vanilla ice cream, all before washing it down with two lemon-lime sodas, according to a press release from the Georgia Department of Corrections.
Humphreys is approximately 6-foot-3 and weighs 305 pounds — making him clinically obese, according to the CDC’s body mass index calculator.
Humphreys was sentenced to death for the 2003 murders of 33-year-old Cynthia Williams and 21-year-old Lori Brown, two real estate workers whom he cornered at their company’s sales office.
The convicted killer forced the women to strip naked and fork over their bank PIN numbers before he shot them both execution-style.
Humphreys also tied Williams’ own underwear around her neck so tightly that it “bore a prominent ligature mark” by the time her body was found, according to a press release from Georgia’s Office of the Attorney General.
He then drained thousands of dollars from their bank accounts, but was eventually caught after a high-speed chase through Wisconsin, prosecutors said.
When he was captured, Humphreys claimed that he didn’t remember killing the women, but said he fled because he knew he “did it.”
“I know it just as well as I know my own name,” Humphreys said, according to the office’s release.
His legal team attempted to stay his execution, which a federal judge denied on Wednesday. The Supreme Court also previously refused a request to appeal his case.
Humphrey’s execution marks the first in Georgia this year, and the 55th by lethal injection in the state’s history. Thirty-two men and one woman are still waiting on Georgia’s death row, according to the Department of Corrections.
