Former Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday said she would be campaigning later this month in Mississippi, New Hampshire and Wisconsin, as part of her tour to support Democratic candidates in the midterms.
Ms. Harris, who has said she is considering running again for president in 2028, will rally for Scott Colom, a Mississippi prosecutor running for Senate; Representative Chris Pappas of New Hampshire, whom she endorsed in his Senate primary campaign; and David Crowley, the Milwaukee County executive, who is running for governor of Wisconsin.
Ms. Harris has already traveled to Detroit to appear with Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for Senate in Michigan, and she is scheduled to appear on Oct. 30 at a get-out-the-vote dinner in Atlanta to help Democratic candidates in Georgia. She also has an event scheduled next week in Las Vegas with Aaron Ford, the Nevada attorney general, who is running for governor.
Several other high-profile Democratic candidates, in Iowa, Kansas, Texas and elsewhere, have said they would prefer that Ms. Harris stay away from their states during this year’s campaign season. Her aides have pitched her as being helpful with energizing Black voters, which may help explain her appearances in Mississippi and Wisconsin, where she is to appear at a rally in Milwaukee.
