President Donald Trump praised First Lady Melania Trump during his rally in Tennessee Saturday before admitting he held insecurities over her film debut earlier this year.
“She’s very elegant, you know, she’s a very elegant woman! She did a movie, I think it’s the number-one movie of the year, it’s crazy! ‘Melania!’” Trump said, referencing the film “Melania,” directed by Brett Ratner.
Director of the wildly popular “Rush Hour” films, Ratner was ousted from Hollywood in 2018 amid sexual misconduct allegations, moved to Israel in 2023, and appeared in the Justice Department’s release of Jeffrey Epstein-related files late last year, and again earlier this year. The film “Melania” was critically panned and grossed $16.6 million worldwide after Amazon paid $40 million for the rights.
“And I don’t like that it’s the number-one movie of the year, you know why?” Trump continued. “There is only room — and I mean this — there is only room for one star in the family. So I don’t need this movie stuff, I don’t need it!”
