Fox News’ liberal co-host Jessica Tarlovteed off on President Donald Trump’s speech on affordability during Wednesday’s broadcast of “The Five.”
Trump traveled to Monroe County, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday to give a speech about the rising cost of living and what his administration is doing to help average Americans. During the speech, Trump weaved through multiple other topics ranging from immigration to how well his Cabinet secretaries are performing.
Tarlov said on Wednesday that Trump’s speech should be considered an “in-kind contribution to the Democrats.”
“He’s had 320 days to work on this, and he’s put in place policies that have made it worse,” Tarlov said.
“The midterm ads are going to be full of Trump from last night saying, ‘You can give up pencils; you don’t need that many. You don’t need that many dolls for your daughter. Two or three is nice, so we’re doing everything right,’” she added, listing several phrases that Democrats could use against Trump in their ads.
Tarlov called out Trump’s claim that his tariffs have made farmers rich as one that could be plastered on Democratic ads.
“You cannot find one farmer to do an interview who will say they’ve gotten rich because of Donald Trump’s tariff policy,” she said, adding that Democrats picked up key election wins in Georgia and Florida while Trump was giving his speech.
