President Donald Trump’s Sunday visit to Illinois for the Presidents Cup golf tournament appeared to have been soured after he was said to be called a “pedophile” by one of the event’s attendees.
“Our country is doing great — better than ever before!” Trump said in his opening remarks ahead of the final day of the tournament.
Less than a minute later, however, as the Village People’s song “Y.M.C.A.” played, an attendee could be heard shouting what appeared to be a profanity-laced insult directed at Trump.
According to several online commentators, including Breck Worsham, a prominent right-wing influencer and ex-Trump supporter, the heckler appeared to loudly call Trump “a f—— pedophile,” followed by a cheer.
“SPEAKERS UP!” Worsham wrote in a social media post on X when sharing a clip of the incident. “Sir, whoever you are, you are my hero.”
Trump faced a seemingly similar moment earlier this year when a Michigan autoworker heckled him as a “pedophile protector” over his administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files. The administration released the files only after Trump’s failed campaign to block a bill forcing their release.
Following the incident, Trump was greeted with more enthusiastic cheering, followed by chants of “four more years” from the crowd.
The Presidents Cup is a biennial team competition pitting top American golfers against an International squad drawn from countries outside Europe, and this year’s event was held at Medinah Country Club outside Chicago. Trump, an avid golfer who owns more than a dozen courses around the world, has long embraced the sport’s biggest stages.
Worsham is the founder of The Patriotic Blonde, a right-wing “opinion-driven news platform” that focuses on “American values” and “current events.” She’s amassed a significant following online among MAGA and conservative circles with nearly 190,000 followers on X.
