Taylor Swift clearly had husband Travis Kelce on the brain when writing her new song “Cleveland!” — one of the new tracks off “The Life of Showgirl: The Encore.”
The song, released Friday, seemingly draws its name from Kelce’s hometown of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and comes just short of three months after the couple’s star-studded New York City wedding.
“My baby likes what he likes / He already took me to Cleveland / And showed me The Heights!” Swift sings in the track, also referencing Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights,” which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason. “So hate all you like / This is the love of my life.”
In another lyric, she sings, “The taste of me is acquired, but it’s his favorite dish.”
Swift leans into Kelce taking her to his hometown a line specifically mentioning “that house with the porch is where he lived as a kid.”
The Grammy winner acknowledges “scathing take[s]” about how she’s “fake” and how Kelce “could find someone younger,” admitting she “can see what they mean” — but all that doesn’t matter to him.
“You only need to find one person in this entire world / Who doesn’t find you completely insufferable / And I have an important announcement to make / I found mine!” she sings toward the end of the track.
The song ends with Swift appearing to make a direct mention of her and Kelce’s July 3 nuptials when she sings, “Now I’m wearing white!”
The four newest tracks — which Swift wrote and produced in Sweden alongside longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback — include “Patient Zero,” “Cleveland!,” “Pink Clouding” and “Babylon.”
When announcing the songs, the pop star said they were “born out of pure gratitude for [fans’] exuberance for and celebration of” her “The Life of a Showgirl” album, which she released in 2025.
The tunes dropped Friday at midnight after Swift, 36, sent fans into a frenzy with a countdown on her websiteon Tuesday before revealing the imminent drop of “Patient Zero.”
The “Bad Blood” hitmaker’s references to her new husband come two months after she tied the knot with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, in a star-studded extravaganza at New York City’s Madison Square Garden July 3.
It also comes ahead of Swift’s highly-anticipated appearance at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, where she’ll debut a “Patient Zero” music video starring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell.
Swift’s most recent lyrical references to the NFL star are nowhere near her first.
She’s been suspected to reference her spouse on tracks including “The Alchemy” and “So High School,” both from her “The Tortured Poets Department” album in 2024.
More prominently, leading up to their wedding, she highlighted her then-fiancé on “The Life of a Showgirl” tracks, including “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Opalite” and the surprisingly suggestive “Wood.”
In an October 2025 interview with Jimmy Fallon, the pop superstar shared that the eyebrow-raising hit “Wood” — which compares the athlete’s prowess to a redwood tree — was initially an “innocent” endeavor.
“I brought this into the studio and I was like I wanna do a throwback, kind of timeless-sounding song, and I had this idea like, ‘I ain’t gotta knock on wood,’ and it would be all these superstitions,” she told the talk show host at the time.
“And it really started out in a very innocent place…I don’t know what happened, man,” she dished.
Swift added, “I got in there, we started vibing, and I don’t know. I don’t know how we got here, but I love the song so much.”
