From Dollywood to Dannywood?
After Dolly Parton’s longtime manager, Danny Nozell, filed a lawsuit against her nephew, alleging he tried to extort money and made deadly threats, insiders tell Page Six they fear that Nozell may have ulterior motives for the court action.
“He wants the family out of the picture, and wants to turn her house into Graceland,” a source alleged to Page Six.
The insider said that Nozell and Parton made a good business team, but she was the moral compass.
“Danny doesn’t have the heart that Dolly did,” they added.
Nozell’s bombshell lawsuit after Parton’s nephew and longtime head of security, Bryan Seaver, lifted the veil on Dolly’s apparently peaceful business affair.
Seaver, who announced Dolly’s death in August, was fired from his security post at the country legend’s estate last week. New security teams were immediately put in place at Parton’s main home in Nashville, Tennessee, and other properties, including her downtown residence, museum and warehouse, according to TMZ.
Seaver told the outlet he and his team were “dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions,” the estate has taken since the “Jolene” singer died.
“We remain unshakably resolved to fulfill [Parton’s] final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much,” he said.
Things took an even nastier turn earlier this week when Nozell filed the suit, seeking a restraining order against Seaver.
It claims Seaver is trying to extort him and had been threatening him for weeks before Parton’s death. He accuses Seaver of “invoking his self-proclaimed military-contractor experience, access to weapons, and capacity of violence.”
The docs includes messages from Seaver, allegedly threatening, “All I do is warfare… everyone needs to be worried what I might do.”
Another reads: “Her money better be bigger than I can make elsewhere or I’m going to f–k everyone. I am about to become the hand of retribution for my entire family.”
Seaver defended his messagesto TMZ, telling the outlet, “Nothing in this lawsuit were threats and most of the comments I stand by.”
“I was talking frankly in a private way with Danny who I thought was my friend and he fancies himself a gangster,” he further explained. “A lot of these messages are two guys having rage talk and crying on the phone together while we were grieving.”
Dolly’s sisters Freida and Stella Parton seemingly came to their nephews’ defense this week. Freida posted a social media message, where she explained, “No one among the Parton/Owens family is fighting over Dolly’s estate. We all love Bryan, just as we all love each other.”
Meanwhile, Stella admitted on Facebook, “All families have the same struggles since we are all living in this world having a human experience.”
“We are still intact and moving forward because our children and grandchildren look to us for strength and guidance during this difficult time of loss and confusion for them as well,” she wrote on Thursday.
Dolly passed away at 80 on Aug. 25 after a brief battle with cancer. He and Nozell did not comment on this story.
