Presley Gerber went into cardiac arrest before his death, a 911 dispatch audio call obtained by Page Six revealed.
An automated voice saying “cardiac arrest” and “overdose” is heard on the call, and the address given matches the California rehab facility Gerber was in at the time. An operator is then heard apparently upgrading the call.
A source on the scene told Page Six that cops, ambulance and firefighters all responded to the incident. We’re told authorities were on the scene for three hours.
As Page Six previously confirmed, Presley — who is the only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber — died from a drug overdose on Sept. 20 while in a Los Angeles rehab facility. He was 27.
At the time of his death, the model was living with several people in a sober house on the grounds of the center in the LA area.
A source exclusively told Page Six that Gerber had checked himself into a Santa Monica rehab“this weekend” because “he knew he needed help.”
“He had not been doing well,” the insider told us. “He’s always suffered from a huge lack of self-esteem and had trouble accepting his real self and feeling fully confident in who he was as a person.”
“Energetically, he didn’t seem like himself,” they added, pointing out that Presley “felt like he was lacking purpose in his life,” “hadn’t really found his place” and “didn’t really know where he wanted to go and what he wanted to do.”
The source further stated that despite “struggling with a lot of things […] he wanted so, so badly to be free of his addictions.”
Presley is survived by his mom, dad and sister Kaia Gerber.
“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” his family said in a joint statement.
Per the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, Presley’s cause and manner of death are still pending.
Prior to his death, Presley had long struggled with substance abuse and mental health.
“I had to step back and take care of my own mental health for a bit. But I’m coming back soon — stronger, clearer, more intentional than ever,” he shared via Instagram in November 2025.
He also explained that he wanted to help people with his “Mental Health Mondays” movement, in which he encouraged people to open up about their struggles.
“It’s been incredible seeing how far that message has spread and how many people it’s helped,” he wrote at the time. “I’m proud that something I created has inspired others and started a bigger movement around openness and healing.”
