Two helicopter crew members were killed Sunday when their aircraft crashed while battling a wildfire in Yosemite National Park.
The chopper went down shortly before 3 p.m. with two people on board in Mariposa County, according to the FAA.
Aerospace company Precision confirmed both crew members died, calling the loss “devastating.”
The crash occurred as crews battled the Dome Fire, which had scorched more than 3,000 acres since igniting Sept. 15.
The cause remains under investigation by the NTSB and FAA.
