The Pentagon has a little nickname for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s wife, reports show.
Jennifer Hegseth — the Fox & Friends producer whose affair with her coworker ended with the breakup of his second marriage (to the mother of his three children) — is not popular in the Pentagon, the Daily Mail was first to report.
“Now there’s a woman with an extremely tight leash on the man she married,” a source told the mail.
Jennifer Hegseth, as the Daily Beast reported Friday, continues to work alongside her husband.
“Hegseth has inserted herself into her husband’s professional life,” the Beast reported, “sitting in on high-stakes meetings at the Pentagon and even appearing with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office last month as he signed an executive order to establish a Military Spouse Commission, which she will chair.”
The New York Timeslast month spoke with 20 officials with ties to the administration who raised alarms about Jennifer Hegseth’s role as an adviser to her husband.
“It’s bonkers that a defense secretary would involve his wife in his sensitive official duties, including sharing details of an impending military operation, and face zero consequences,” former Pentagon spokesperson John Ullyot reportedly said.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, that sentiment has resulted in a nickname.
Behind her back, the Pentagon calls Jennifer Hegseth by the name of the Japanese artist whose relationship with John Lennon was often blamed for the breakup of the Beatles: Yoko Ono.
