Jimmy Fallon Doesn’t Trust Trump to Handle A.I. Concerns

Welcome to Late Night Roundup, a rundown of the previous night’s highlights that lets you sleep — and lets us get paid to watch comedy. Here are the 50 best movies on Netflix right now.

‘American Intelligence’

On Monday, President Trump dismissed concerns over A.I., posting on Truth Social: “The only control or ‘guardrails’ that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!”

“Well, I feel better,” Jimmy Fallon quipped on “The Tonight Show.”

“Trump was like, ‘[imitating Trump] I’d like to see ChatGPT pick out a zebra on the cognitive test. I mean, I don’t think — I don’t think so, buddy.’” — JIMMY FALLON

“We’re relying on Trump to beat A.I.; I don’t even think Trump can beat Wordle.” — JIMMY FALLON

“Trump’s handling it, which means he’s gonna change the name from ‘Artificial Intelligence’ to ‘American Intelligence.’” — JIMMY FALLON

“Keep in mind, up until a week ago, Trump thought A.I. stood for ‘American Idol,’ so. ‘[imitating Trump] I’ve spoken with Ryan Seacrest, and we’re perfectly safe.’” — JIMMY FALLON

“Meanwhile, Trump also said he’s ‘not downplaying the risks but that it will be more good than bad by a lot.’ For some reason, Trump’s not eager to stop something that lets him make photos of himself as Jesus riding a bald eagle.” — JIMMY FALLON

The Punchiest Punchlines (Midterm Convention Edition)

“Of course, Trump had to claim that the convention hall was packed, even though, you know, if you ignored the empty seats, yes, it did look packed.” — BILL MAHER

“You went against football? You went against the opening two nights of football? Wow, the one thing that people still watch on television? Trump’s convention on Fox News got less than what ‘Hannity’ and ‘Gutfeld’ get on a regular night. And I’m the low ratings dummy?” — BILL MAHER

The Bits Worth Watching

On Monday’s “Gutfeld,” the host laid into social media users who celebrated Charlie Kirk’s death, one year after the conservative activist was shot and killed in Utah.

What We’re Excited About on Tuesday Night

Stephen Colbert will be on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” his first late night appearance since “The Late Show” went off the air.
