Anna Wintour talks tennis, and more items from the column

Catch up with this week’s items from Page Six in the New York Post.

Roger and out

Anna Wintour has been making the rounds at this year’s US Open — even as the Met Gala scandal continues to swirl around her. And while the Vogue legend has taken in plenty of tennis’ biggest stars, she refused to play favorites when we asked for her picks.

“How could you possibly pick one?,” Wintour asked Page Six on the Open’s red carpet. “There’s the young man Michelsen who just played, or watching Venus and Serena was amazing — like turning back time.”

But when asked to name her all-time favorite, she didn’t hesitate. “Roger,” she replied, referring to Roger Federer, before strutting off to watch another match alongside actor Colman Domingo and Huma Abedin.

Don’t know Joe

Apparently the Gen Z staffers on the door of Bilt’s closing reception for the Status Summit don’t wake up to “Morning Joe.” Joe Scarborough wasn’t on the list for the bash, we’re told, and “they had no clue who he was.”

Guests standing in line even tried to vouch for the king of breakfast cable, which made him smile, we’re told. “He wasn’t being a diva. He was very nice to the [staff]. He was a real class act,” our source said.

An event organizer eventually came out to usher him in, and once inside we’re told Scarborough seemed to be the life of the party, schmoozing with partygoers including former NBC colleague, Andrea Canning. “He was super friendly and chummy with everyone! He was wandering around and just chatting. He was lovely,” another source said.

The party ended a day of panels hosted by the Status newsletter that included appearances by Don Lemon, Kara Swisher, Nicole Wallace, Mehdi Hasan and more.

Fashion Week gets rolling

BOBBY Cannavale and Debra Messing missed a “Will and Grace” reunion by 20 minutes on Thursday night. The former castmates were both at the Manner celebrating NYFW, with Cannavale attending an afterparty for Twiggy’s 2024 documentary in the hotel’s lounge Sloane’s. Meanwhile Messing was downstairs in the Otter, having dinner with Christian Siriano and VIPs from his fashion show. “They missed each other by 20 minutes,” a source told Page Six.

At Twiggys’ bash, Cannavale mingled with the iconic model, along with  Donna Karan, Deborra Lee Furness, designer Terry Singh and Ellen von Unwerth. Nicole Miller, Frederick Anderson, Steve and Maureen Van Zandt, and Sadie Frost were also there. Across the street from Twiggy’s shindig, hospitality vet Andres Diaz unveiled his latest downtown project, Bar Leone, with a party that brought out DJ Honey Dijon, Timo Weiland, Jessica Joffe, Nikki Kynard and David Rabin.

Earlier in the week, Bespoke Post hosted a private dinner at Wild Cherry to celebrate the launch of James Dean by Bespoke Post, a collection the brand collaborated on with the late actor’s estate. The brand’s founder Rishi Prabhu said they chose the landmark West Village restaurant because of its ties to Dean, who appeared in an off-Broadway production at Cherry Lane Theatre before launching his Hollywood career. On Tuesday, music exec and Victor Victor Worldwide founder Steve Victor teamed up with Maurice K. from The People Gallery to host a NYFW dinner at Emilio’s Ballato.

The evening celebrated the release of his “IL Caos” quadrilogy and collaboration with Nike for their Air Force 1 colorway sneaker. Fabolous, Jadakiss, World Wide Wes and “Paradise” star Sarah Shahi were all spotted at the intimate dinner.

Little girl’s big-screen dreams

Pregnant singer Ciara hit the US Open women’s semifinals Thursday with her daughter, Sienna Princess Wilson, as her adorable plus-one — and the 9-year-old is already a master of public relations.

Sienna proved a natural on the carpet, happily posing for pictures and even joining Ciara, who is currently expecting her fifth child with husband Russell Wilson, for interviews.

But it was a video camera at the end of the carpet that really caught her eye. Page Six witnessed a sweet moment when Sienna approached the cameraman and said: “I have one favor. Can you please get me on the big screen?” While the cameraman doesn’t exactly control the US Open’s Jumbotron, we’re sure he put in a good word.

Scarlet fever hits Fashion Week

Fashion designer Stacey Bendet had an extra-special model in her ALICE+OLIVIA presentation Thursday night — her middle daughter, Scarlet Eisner. Eisner, 16, made her debut in an embroidered mini dress at the “Welcome to Wonderland” collection at 583 Park Avenue, posing in an installation which included a 20-foot mirrored gown and a life-sized dollhouse in front of guests including Paris Hilton, Jessica Alba, Tiffany Haddish, Nikki Glaser, Nicky Hilton, Kate Walsh, Jenny Mollen, and Beth Stern.

Siren sports Finest fashions

Former Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney strutted the catwalk at the Metropolitan Opera for “Style Across the Aisle” — a fashion show designed to give constituents a closer look at their local politicians — wearing the FDNY jacket she has donned before to honor those affected by 9/11. Maloney co-authored the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act in 2010 and has worked to secure billions in funding for first responders and others affected by the terror attacks.

“It’s not over,” Maloney told Page Six of the fight. “The mayor [Zohran Mamdani] announced he is opening the files, which four other mayors never did, and putting them on a website.” She added, “Roughly by October [2001], [officials knew] it was unhealthy there. They should have told us. It would have saved lives if they had told us earlier.”

Maloney first wore the outfit — a firefighter jacket over a yellow gown — to the 2019 Met Gala. She is also pictured wearing it in her portrait at the US Capitol, to honor her “iconic legacy as a champion” of 9/11 heroes and their families. Others walking in the show included Speaker Julie Menin, exonerated Central Park Five member and New York City Councilmember Yusef Salaam, politicians Gale Brewer, Grace Lee, Kamillah Hanks and more.

Open call for double partner

There are plenty of ways to score tickets to the US Open. You can buy them, get an invite from a brand or snag a spot in a corporate suite – or, Page Six has learned, you can simply look like Aryna Sabalenka. We’re told there was Sabalenka lookalike contest in Brooklyn, which offered the ultimate prize — two tickets to Wednesday’s quarterfinals, courtesy of the tennis star herself.

Sabalenka personally picked the winner, we hear, who got the chance to take in the action from the nosebleeds. Not exactly courtside, but hey — when your ticket comes straight from the World No.2 who’s complaining? Apparently, the lookalike herself was otherwise engaged on match day, so she sent two friends.

Luc association hits East Village

Katie Holmes and boyfriend Jason Bard Yarmosky made an appearance at New York Fashion Week, rocking out alongside designer Nili Lotan during Lucinda Williams’ intimate set at her East Village bar Lucinda’s. Guests like Audrey McGraw, daughter of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, dined on Chef Angie Mar’s famed burgers from Le B as the country legend jammed with guitarist G.E Smith.

Lotan told Page Six it was “a night we will remember for the rest of our lives.”  “Lucinda, thank you for being with us and sharing your music,” he said. “To be in that room with you, listening to you perform live, was an experience I will never forget.”

A-list gets a little puffed up

It was a star-studded turn out at Moncler’s new flagship opening on the Upper East Side. Cher, Julia Roberts, Serena Williams and a very pregnant Anne Hathaway posed for pics at the two-story Fifth Avenue space.

Spike Lee, Jessica Chastain, Adrien Brody, Odell Beckham Jr., Maria Sharapova, Colin Kaepernick, Shaun White, Penn Padgley and athletes Shaun White and Gus Kenworthy pursued the racks and rocked out to a set by Mark Ronson.

Also spotted: Coco Rocha, François Arnaud, Edward Enninful, Pete Davidson, singer Cara and Eliut Rivera were also spotted. Later, A-list guests were treated to dinner in an alpine forest at Gotham Hall by  chef Daniel Humm.

Comic stars take the Stand

Top comics came together for an all-star night of comedy when Dave Chappelle, Shane Gillis, Aziz Ansari and Michael Che all showed up to the 11 p.m. show at The Stand in Union Square.

We hear Gillis showed up to open the night, followed by Ansari, followed by Chappelle with a 45 minute set. A source tells us the comics were all in town for the “NYC Still Rising After 25 Years: A 9/11 Charities Comedy Benefit,” at Madison Square Garden the following night.

A source tells us the evening got even better when Gillis, who was hanging out upstairs, convinced “Saturday Night Live” star Michael Che to come with him to interrupt Chappelle and join him onstage.

The fan described the moment as a “true comedy boys night,” as the stand-ups “traded jokes and riffed off one another on topical subjects and current events.”

Earlier in the night, a spy tells us that Pete Davidson was at the club rehearsing his material for the 9/11 tribute.
