Ella Langley Leads the 60th Annual CMA Awards With 9 Nominations

Ella Langley led the 60th Annual CMA Awards with nine nominations in part to her record-breaking hit “Choosing Texas.”

The country music hit has spent 21 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, moving her one week closer to beating Mariah Carey’s record for most weeks spent at the top of the chart for “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

Other top nominees include Miranda Lambert with seven nominations and Kacey Musgraves and Ben West with five nominations each.

“For six decades, the CMA Awards have celebrated excellence in Country Music,” Sarah Trahern, CMA chief executive officer, said. “We’re grateful to CMA’s Professional members, whose collective voice determines every nomination, bringing real expertise to the balloting process each year. Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Langley, Chris Stapleton and Lainey Wilson will all compete for the night’s top honor of Entertainer of the Year.

The nominees are determined by CMA’s 7,083 voting-eligible professional members, spanning the country music landscape. This year’s nominees were revealed first on “Good Morning America” and livestreamed on CMA’s official YouTube channel.

The 60th Annual CMA Awards will broadcast live from from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 8 p.m. ET.
