A woman pleaded guilty on Tuesday to luring four men she encountered on the street in Manhattan and then drugging and robbing them, leaving three dead, over a 10-month period between 2023 and 2024.
The woman, Tabitha Bundrick, sometimes used the promise of sex to lure the men she met in Washington Heights to a vacant apartment or to their own homes, where she would share drugs with them, prosecutors said. Once the men were unconscious, she robbed them — taking their phones, money, watches, clothes and shoes — and left them to die, prosecutors said.
Ms. Bundrick, 39, pleaded guilty to three counts of murder in the deaths of Mario Paullan, Miguel Navez and Abrihan Fernandez. Ms. Bundrick is expected to receive 27 years to life in prison at her sentencing in October.
In a statement on Tuesday, Alvin L. Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney, said that Ms. Bundrick had “showed a shocking indifference to the lives of her victims.”
“As they laid unconscious, she robbed her victims and left them to die,” Mr. Bragg said. “In several instances, the victims’ bodies were found by their friends or family members.”
The case is among several prosecutions by Mr. Bragg’s office of defendants who lured people from outside bars and other locations and then drugged and robbed them. Three men were convicted last year of targeting men outside Manhattan gay bars and then abandoning them to their deaths after drugging them.
The guilty plea on Tuesday is not Ms. Bundrick’s only conviction — she was charged by Manhattan federal prosecutors in 2024 with the distribution of narcotics resulting in death. She pleaded guilty to two counts of a lesser narcotics-distribution charge and was sentenced to 13 years in prison. She will serve that time concurrently with any sentence imposed as a result of her plea in her state case on Tuesday.
Prosecutors in that case said that Ms. Bundrick started targeting men on April 30, 2023, when she offered two victims, including Mr. Paullan, sex in exchange for money. She then led the men to an empty apartment on West 159th Street that she had broken into, where she gave the men what she said was cocaine, prosecutors said. The next morning, one of the men woke up to find his phone and other personal belongings missing.
Next to him, Mr. Paullan, 42, was dead.
In September of that year, Ms. Bundrick met Mr. Navez, 39, on the street and went back to his apartment on West 158th Street, where she gave him fentanyl-laced drugs, prosecutors said. Three days later, Mr. Navez’s brother found him dead at the apartment with many of his belongings missing, they said.
Five months later, Ms. Bundrick met Mr. Fernandez, 34, according to prosecutors. They met near his apartment building on West 144th Street. After chatting, they went upstairs to his place, where Ms. Bundrick provided Mr. Fernandez with drugs, prosecutors said.
A few hours later, at around 4 a.m., Ms. Bundrick left the building, returned and then left again with several large bags, prosecutors said.
She was arrested days later, on March 5, 2024, in her apartment, where a search uncovered four pairs of one victim’s sneakers, according to prosecutors.
