Lindsay Clancy’s mistrial: Letters to the Editor — Sept. 8, 2026

The Issue: The murder trial of Lindsay Clancy ending in a mistrial due to one juror’s holdout.

What is wrong with this country? Have Americans lost all morality, righteousness, compassion and sanity (“Held up by holdout,”Sept. 4)?

How could the jury not come to a unanimous decision that Lindsay Clancy is guilty? She confessed. Case closed.

I commend the one holdout for standing his ground. Hopefully, all the woke people come to their senses next time around. I bet they believe OJ Simpson was innocent.

Marcia Falk

Monroe, NJ

Cora, Dawson and Callan Clancy deserve better. Lindsay’s psychosis conveniently showed up the day of the murders. At no other time in her many interactions with medical professionals did it occur.

Not only does evidence point to her committing the crime, she admitted she did it. Crazy or not, the children are dead at her hand. Try her again and put her away so she cannot harm any other children.

Betsy Flor

Putnam Valley

Clancy admitted to murdering her three children. A greater atrocity is difficult to even imagine.

Her fate should be commensurate with her crime. The rest of her life should be in prison or a mental health facility.

For those who think Clancy should get off easier: When will you be having her over your house to babysit your children?

Michael Patracuolla

Bloomfield, NJ

She murdered her three innocent children. I don’t care how crazy she is or is pretending to be, she killed her kids.

She should rot in a jail cell for the rest of her life. To the jury made mostly of morons who obviously left school after 5th grade: What if these were your grandchildren?

Peter Sulzicki

Stratford, Conn.

It’s horrible that The Post’s front page places blame on one juror for throwing Clancy’s trial into chaos. He has heard all the evidence and sees Lindsay as guilty. He is doing his duty as a juror by giving a verdict befitting the crime.

Apparently justice now means caving in to an angry mob of sympathizers and no justice for the innocent children killed by their own mother?

Are you setting the precedent for future jurors in future trials to call their verdict based out of fear of going against others? That’s not jury duty, it’s intimidation.

Susan Cienfuegos

New Rochelle

After he was unable to get his accused killer client off the hook because of one brave juror, Kevin Reddington stooped to calling that juror a liar.

Then, outside the courthouse, this big shot slandered Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz for supposedly not knowing the names of Clancy’s murdered children.

Reddington, who told the world he sees Clancy as a daughter, put a target on the backs of that juror and DA. He should be hit with ethics charges, if not two civil defamation lawsuits.

James Hyland

Beechhurst

If I was a little kid and my mom thought it was OK for a mom to kill her kids, I think I’d be a little bit worried. “Will mommy kill me tonight?”

John Dumary Jr.

Duanesburg

If the jury had the option of a second-degree murder verdict, it would’ve likely ended the Clancy trial once and for all.

Looking back, those involved in Clancy’s support system obviously saw no reason to monitor her on the day she killed her children. If anyone felt the children were in danger, they would have removed them from her care.

Clancy claims her sickness motivated the killing, but that is something we’ll never truly know. What we do know is that she committed maternal filicide and has been fighting for her life with attorneys, medical professionals and sympathizers ever since. Sadly, she never gave her babies a chance to live their lives.

Justice will be served in the end, but in reality, no one will ever come out the winner of this case.

Roberta Chaleff

Tamarac, Fla.

I don’t care what the law says about reasonable doubt or the defense’s claim that Clancy was mentally unstable when she killed her children. She is guilty of murder. Period.
