My husband and I live with our college-aged daughter, my mother-in-law, and two of her teen grandchildren — three generations, six people, all in one house.
Trying to accommodate all the different preferences and feed this crew on a budget sometimes feels like navigating a field of land mines. But shopping at Aldi has become a lifesaver with its lower-priced offerings on many of the items we regularly eat, with each trip costing around $100.
Here are a few of the many products I always pick up at Aldi.
Prices may vary depending on location.
The Fremont Fish Market salmon fillets are a great value.

Whenever I’m at Aldi, I always grab a bag of Fremont Fish Market wild-caught pink salmon.
This 2-pound package of frozen fillets costs $11 and is a go-to for lunch or dinner in our house. Plus, it’s delicious.
I love the Kirkwood ground turkey.

The Kirkwood ground turkey is a staple in our household of six. This 1-pound pack is $2, and tastes amazing in tacos or spaghetti.
The Chef’s Cupboard chicken broth is packed with flavor.

My husband loves to cook us up a feast at dinnertime, and he uses a lot of the Chef’s Cupboard chicken broth because it’s safe for his mom’s low-sodium diet.
A bonus: it adds incredible flavor to any meal and is only a little over $1 at Aldi.
I never leave Aldi without grabbing Friendly Farms ultra-filtered milk.

Whenever I’m at Aldi, my cart is always stocked with Friendly Farms ultra-filtered milk. Not only does it have 14 grams of protein per serving, but it also costs only $4 per carton.
The regular flavor is great, but I always pick up a chocolate version as well.
Aldi has an amazing cheese selection.

My family loves charcuterie boards, so I appreciate all the cheese options available at Aldi.
Our favorites include the store’s crumbled feta, cheddar cheese cubes, Sriracha Gouda, and cranberry white cheddar.
We’re obsessed with the Park Street Deli cannoli dip.

The Park Street Deli chocolate-chip cannoli dip is so tasty that I always make sure to pick up a container when I’m at Aldi.
Whether we’re serving it at a get-together or just snacking on it with some pretzels, it’s a must-have in our house.
I love how big one container of Pretty Lady Vineyards grapes is.

The Pretty Lady Vineyards organic red seedless table grapes are an incredible value, with a 2-pound container only costing $5.
My family eats these all week, and they’re great for school lunches or as part of a fruit salad.
Aldi’s gluten-free baking mixes make it easy to have a tasty treat.

The gluten-free brownie mixes at Aldi are only $3, and I think they taste better than some that cost twice as much at other stores.
Although we try to avoid desserts, it doesn’t take long for our family to finish off the occasional sweet treat.
I can’t get enough of the Choceur dark-chocolate almond bars.

I love to keep a stash of these Choceur dark-chocolate almond bars in my desk. Not only are they delicious, but each bar only costs $2.
Summit Diet Cola doesn’t break the bank.

My daughter loves Diet Coke, but happily satisfies that craving with the Summit brand from Aldi, which is only $4 for a 12-pack and tastes just as good.
