The LEGO Ideas franchise offers fan designers the opportunity to present their own sets to the LEGO community, with sets that achieve enough supporters being reviewed by the company to determine if it should go into production. Over the 17 years in which the program has existed — we took a look at some of its best sets back in 2023 — only a select few of each review wave have ended up being selected.
One such design is Toby Brett’s take on Pixar’s Luxo Jr., the studio’s beloved lamp character that first debuted in his eponymous animated short film in 1986. Constructed with 613 pieces, this Luxo Jr. set stands over 11 inches tall and is fully articulated, letting one recreate its classic bouncing and rotating movements. It comes with a Disney Pixar ball, which features Easter eggs nodding to popular films from the studio such as Ratatouille and Toy Story.
