Disney+ Korean Drama ‘A Shop For Killers‘ Renewed For Season 2

Disney+’s popular Korean drama A Shop For Killers has been renewed for a second season. Season 1 saw college student Jian diving for cover in her childhood home after a series of highly skilled assassins got her in their sights. Desperately fighting to survive, Jian began to remember invaluable lessons her uncle Jinman taught her before his mysterious death, drawing on them to help her stay alive. The show stars Lee Dongwook (Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938) as Jinman, a former mercenary and Kim Hyejun (Connect, Kingdom) as Jian, a college student on the run from some of the world’s deadliest assassins, while Season 2 has been boarded by Japanese star Masaki Okada (Drive My Car, We’re Millenials. Got a Problem?) and Hyunri (Pachinko, The Naked Director). The news comes with Korean content continuing to punch above its weight. Recent research found that Korean content is second only to U.S.’ shows and films on Netflix for total viewing hours.

ProSiebenSat.1 Extends Bert Habets Contract As CEO

Bert Habets will remain CEO of Germany’s ProSiebenSat.1 Media for another three years after signing a new contract. The company said this would equip him “with the mandate to continue the consistent transformation” of ProSiebenSat.1. The contract award comes amid a fight for the broadcaster’s future, with shareholders such as MediaForEurope and PFF agitating for change and ProSiebenSat.1’s board believing their current strategy, based around streamer Joyn, is the correct course. The news closely follows the nomination of former Paramount and ITV Studios exec Maria Kryiacou as the success of Supervisory Board chair Andreas Wiele. “I would like to congratulate Bert Habets on the extension of his contract,” said Wiele. “With this decision, the Supervisory Board is sending an important signal of stability which also finds the support of my designated successor, Maria Kyriacou.”
