HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The next few days will bring gorgeous temperatures to the Tennessee Valley, and what better way to enjoy it than by spending some time Downtown? If you’re looking for a fun and free activity, you’re in luck!
Downtown Huntsville, Inc. is partnering with GFiber to put on the Downtown Open. It’s a free 19-hole mini golf course scattered around the Courthouse Square in Huntsville.
Each hole has been decorated by a different Huntsville business.
Anna Rojas, with Downtown Huntsville, Inc., said the idea for the course is to give people a fun and free activity downtown.
“We always encourage our local community to come out and explore downtown Huntsville,” Rojas said.
The event is returning this year, and Rojas said it is perfect for all ages.
“I see a lot of families come out and play, and have their own little mini tournaments,” she said. “I see a lot of our young professionals as well.”
She suggests making an evening or afternoon out of it. “Grab a purple cup, enjoy our downtown district,” Rojas said.
You can pick up (and return) a scorecard, balls, and clubs at Honest Coffee, BeeZr, or One Man’s Vintage during business hours. Rojas said with their wide range of hours, you can play whatever time of day or evening that you’d like!
The Downtown Open officially kicks off on Saturday, April 19, and runs through Wednesday, April 30.
