Sunny Hostin’s Harvard-grad son settles trespassing rap after mom’s bid to pressure DA flops

The entitled son of “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin had to complete a court-ordered course to get his Westchester County trespassing case dismissed — despite his celeb mom’s two-month-long campaign to make the case disappear.

Ivy League-educated Gabriel Hostin, 24, was nabbed trespassing on Metro-North Railroad tracks in New Rochelle on June 16 and hit with a trespassing violation. During his arrest, his famous mom was caught on bodycam trying to throw her weight around with cops at the scene.

“My name is Sunny Hostin and I’m one of the co-hosts of ‘The View’ and I’m a former federal prosecutor,” she told cops. “That’s my son. He’s a Harvard graduate, he doesn’t have a criminal record.”

According to sources, she didn’t let up after that, and consistently hammered away at the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office to make it all go away without any recourse.

The younger Hostin eventually agreed to accept a deal, which required him to take part in a three-hour Fresh Start course, which the Westchester DA’s Office said is a “pre-arraignment diversion program that provides eligible first-time, low-level offenders” with a chance to have the cases dismissed.

Gabriel Hostin completed the course on Aug. 20, and the prosecutors have sent a letter to the court requesting that the charges be dismissed after completion of the course.

The 2025 Harvard University grad told the cops after being detained near 24 Station Plaza in the Westchester city that he was out for a run and saw the gate near the tracks was open.

“Is this necessary?” he asked the cops who, in unison, responded with, “Yes.”

“What happens if you didn’t do it?” he said, with one officer responding that their “hands were tied” — and adding that if they didn’t spot him along the tracks, someone else would have.

“Because it is an arrestable offense. I want to make that clear, okay? Where you were on the tracks is an arrestable offense,” one MTA cop can be heard asserting in the bodycam footage.

In addition to her spot on the hit show, Sunny Hostin is a lawyer and former prosecutor.

His talk show co-host mom declined to comment to The Post after the incident, but in a letter to the prosecutor on the case shared with TMZ, she said her son was simply jogging and did not see any visible no trespassing signs that suggested it was illegal to walk through the gate.

A rep for Sunny Hostin did not respond to a request for comment on Thursday.
