The court’s decision to pause a temporary injunction leaves open the possibility for lower courts to challenge Trump’s executive order on mail-in ballots, which places significant restrictions on when the ballots can be used. The order also required the Postal Service to create its own database of voters who vote by mail, the legality of which is still up in the air, according to the Supreme Court.
