Nick Offerman is nominated in two Emmy categories this year, and one of them puts the “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” actor up against Harrison Ford. The thing is, it’s a comedy category, which threw Offerman himself for a loop.
Offerman and his wife Megan Mullally appeared together on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday night, reflecting on their recent play in Chicago where they starred together again. Of course, as the conversation went on, guest host Rosie O’Donnell (filling in for Kimmel while he’s still on summer vacation), had to take a moment to highlight Offerman’s Emmy nominations, and get an idea of how he feels about the whole situation.
“It’s so nice to have a job as an actor,” he said. “And then to to get all the way to where you’re in the mix of, like, being awarded for your great show, it’s pretty swell, you know?”
But Offerman also couldn’t help but chuckle at the competition he’s surrounded by this year.
“And, like, in one of them, I’m up against Harrison Ford, as a supporting actor in a comedy, which I did not see that coming,” he said with a laugh.
Indeed, both men are nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Ford is nominated for his performance in “Shrinking,” while Offerman earned the nod for his performance in “Margo’s Got Money Troubles.”
Also nominated in the category are: Colman Domingo for “The Four Seasons”; Paul W. Downs for “Hacks”; Stephen Root for “Widow’s Bay”; Michael Urie for “Shrinking”; and Tyler James Williams for “Abbott Elementary.”
