Right-wing commentator Tomi Lahren has a dire message for the Republican Party: You’re about to make an equal and opposite mistake to the Democratic Party.
Specifically, she wrote on X, while Democrats have spent years losing ground with young men without a solid plan to win them over, Republicans are already losing big with young women and seeing a bigger and bigger gap over time.
“I know a lot of Republicans don’t want to hear this, but the Right is on the verge of making the same mistake with young women that the Left did with young men,” wrote Lahren. “I know some of these women are fun to mock, and I get it, and I do it too, BUT we have to do better if we want to bring them over to our side. If we totally alienate young women, we will not win elections. We have to find a way to appeal to them.”
“Making fun of ‘girl bosses’ and telling women they shouldn’t value their careers too much make might for some fun podcast banter but it’s alienating and pissing off a lot of otherwise conservative women,” she added. “Just thought you should know.”
While Republicans made significant inroads with younger voters in 2024, that gain was primarily with young men — and now both young men and women have continued to trend sharply away from Republicans ahead of the November midterms, amid the chaos of the Trump administration and devastating scandals among GOP lawmakers.
