Knives are coming out for top Trump aide Natalie Harp among the president’s other aides, The Nation correspondent Joan Walsh told MS NOW’s Ari Melber.
National attention has flooded onto Harp, sometimes called the “human printer” for her tendency to give Trump favorable printouts on cue, after Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) highlighted the bizarrely close relationship she has with Trump during a campaign speech.
“It touches off so much … it’s a real story because she is this person feeding him undigested garbage that he puts out on social media,” said Walsh, pointing out that the infamous racist meme Trump posted depicting the Obamas as apes allegedly came from her. “She’s responsible for a lot of the garbage.”
Moreover, Walsh said, “Aides who have more experience — there aren’t a lot of them, I mean, he doesn’t have the finest Cabinet — but there are other people who you can tell feel that they should be in more of that position. And she’s crafting Truth Social with him late at night. I mean, it’s a real job. She makes $150,000 a year. She’s 35, she’s not a child.”
What’s also notable, Walsh continued, is that it’s actually Trump’s people “who made Senator Ossoff’s funny comments into something kind of dirty or perverse. But that’s not what he said. And that’s not what I think. I think she’s the human binky, the human blanket. I think she’s the nurse. She’s not the mistress.”
No matter what their relationship actually is, said Walsh, the fact is that “he needs that kind of loyalty. And he also needs that kind of love basically sent back to him and then, you know, constantly printing out. It’s just so bizarre printing out Twitter posts. It’s just like she has a lot of control over his mind space.”
