LI cops chase hooligans town to town to nix wild street takeovers before finally busting 15

Long Island cops chased hooligans from town to town to thwart massive weekend street takeovers before finally nailing them wildly burning rubber and busting 15 of them.

The Suffolk County Police Department’s Street Takeover Task Force moved in on the scofflaws Saturday just after midnight as the road rabble-rousers shut down a street in Medford, where the reckless drivers were drag-racing and performing donuts, burnouts and even doing dangerous stunts in middle of the street, officials said.

Police had been tracking the group since Friday night and successfully prevented them from taking over locations in both Islipand Patchoguethat same night.

But the relentless rogues refused to give up and eventually made their way to Medford, where they succeeded in completely taking over Woodside Avenue, cops said.

It wasn’t long before the task force got word of the takeover in Medford and rushed to the scene.
