During Saturday Night Live‘s opening monologue by host and musical performer Timothée Chalamet, he revealed he would be singing more obscure Bob Dylan songs that are his personal favorites.

The trio of songs he selected were not featured in his most recent hit film, A Complete Unknown, where he brings Dylan to life beginning with his arrival in New York in 1961 before his career took off, to his controversial performance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival when he pivoted from an acoustic guitar and folks music to electric, and beyond.

The tracks he performed included “Outlaw Blues,” from Dylan’s 1965 album Bringing It All Back Home; “Three Angels,” which was released in 1970 as part of his eleventh album New Morning; and “Tomorrow Is A Long Time” from Bob Dylan’s Greatest Hits Volume II released in 1971. For his final performance, Chalamet was joined on stage by James Blake who played piano.

Before his medley of “Outlaw Blues” and “Three Angels,” Chalamet was introduced before hitting the stage by Adam Sandler.

Chalamet was recently nominated for his second Academy Award for Best Actor in A Complete Unknown and the film was further lauded with seven other nominations including Best Picture, Best Director for James Mangold, Best Supporting Actor for Ed Norton who played folk singer Pete Seeger, and Best Supporting Actress for Monia Barbaro who played Joan Baez.
