Mayor Zohran Mamdani stayed mum on the topic of his icy relationship with Rep. Adriano Espaillat as they both marched in the Dominican Day Parade Sunday — with the two keeping their distance during the festivities.
Hizzoner wouldn’t say if he and the Democratic congressman spoke at a press conference about the parade’s security on Friday.
“We’re all just focused on the parade,” Mamdani told The Post on the parade route in Manhattan.
The mayor kept his statements general when he was asked specifically if he had seen Espaillat on stage for a ceremony at Sunday’s festivities.
“It was good to see everybody on stage, good to see everyone out here,” Hizzoner said.
Espaillat shook his head when a reported asked what it was like to see Mamdani again at the parade.
Espaillat was seen walking the parade with Gov. Kathy Hochul, with the two appearing chummy while the mayor walked with his own cadre.
The rotten relationship between the two developed after Mamdani backed far-left candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier in a primary election for Espaillat’s seat in NY-13, which includes Harlem, Washington Heights and parts of the Bronx.
