An ailing resident in a ritzy Upper East Side co-op building stabbed her home health aide in the gut during an argument over her oxygen mask, sources said.
The 66-year-old resident of 210 East 73rd St. knifed the unidentified, 54-year-old female aide, after the two argued over the mask on Saturday at about 12:30 p.m., sources told The Post.
The victim was rushed by ambulance to Weill Cornell hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
The alleged stabber was taken into custody but hadn’t been charged as of Sunday morning.
Units in the posh building where the attack unfolded list for some eye-popping prices, with one-bedroom units in the building going for as much as $700,000, according to StreetEasy data.
A resident of the building told The Post Saturday that he overheard the aide “speaking to what appeared to be her patient on the phone.
“I had just come back from running my errands and was having a cigarette and she asked me for one,” he explained.
“And I said no, and then I heard her screaming into the phone: ‘I do everything for you, I do your laundry, I take care of you, I take care of every little thing.’”
