Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau took things to the next level with a high-profile double date in Tokyo.
The couple was seen meeting with Japan’s former prime minister Fumio Kishida and his wife Yuko in a formal photo shared to Xon Thursday.
The “Firework” singer, 41, wore a brown mini-skirt and cropped jacket with a pair of heeled boots, while the former Canadian prime minister, 53, donned a gray suit and tie with a pair of black shoes.
“Former Canadian Prime Minister@JustinTrudeau visited Japan with his partner and joined my wife and me for lunch,” Kishida captioned the upload, without mentioning the pop star by name.
“During his time as prime minister, we met multiple times as fellow leaders, and when I visited Canada, we worked together to strengthen bilateral relations, including formulating the ‘Japan-Canada Action Plan,’ sweating it out side by side. I am delighted that we continue to maintain this friendship in this way.”
Netizens on X couldn’t resist commenting on Perry’s appearance in the distinguished photo.
“My friend is meeting with a pop star. Is he receiving her love unconditionally? Or is he hearing the roar of a lion?” one person quipped, while another wrote, “that’s KATY PERRY, global pop icon tbh.”
Another joked, “It’s Katy and her partner,” with a fourth speculating, “Ooooooh that must be the future MRS. TRUDEAU we’ve all heard so much about.”

Prior to the meeting with Japan’s former prime minister, Trudeau and the “Teenage Dream” hitmaker were spotted strolling through Tokyo’s tourist area, Asakusa, on a casual date nighton Monday.
Perry is currently in the midst of her Lifetimes Tour, and she performed two shows earlier this week at the Saitama Super Arena.
The politician and “I Kissed a Girl” songstress first sparked romance rumors in July, when the pair was seen on a quiet dinner date in Montreal.
They were also spotted taking a walk at Mount Royal Park before images of Trudeau emerged enthusiastically taking in Perry’s sold-out Lifetimes Tour show in Canada.
Intimate photos of the pair making out on the singer’s yacht— taken in September by a tourist on a passing boat — surfaced in October, leaving little question as the state of the couple’s relationship.
A source told People last month that Perry is “making plans for the holidays” with Trudeau, and that she’s “looking forward” to the end of her tour.
Trudeau, separated from his wife of 18 years, Sophie Grégoire — with whom he shares sons Xavier, 17, and Hadrien, 11, and daughter Ella-Grace, 16 — in 2023.
Perry, meanwhile, split from “Pirates of the Caribbean” star Orlando Bloom in June after nearly a decade together. They share daughter Daisy Dove, 5.
