Gunman shoots two near busy NYC subway station, sending bystanders scrambling to safety: video

A gunman opened fire outside a busy Bronx subway station Thursday evening, striking two victims and sending innocent bystanders running for their lives.

The shooting steps away from the West Farms Square-E Tremont Avenue subway station was captured on surveillance footage and shows a man dressed in a white hoodie spraying bullets into a plaza at about 6 p.m.

The shooter can be seen slowly walking toward the West Farms Square plaza before opening fire in the direction of a group of people standing near a store.

One man can be seen dramatically falling over a bench before rolling onto the pavement, though it is unclear if he was struck by a bullet or not.

Several bystanders can be seen running for their lives and scrambling to safety while the gunman fled the scene.

The NYPD said two people were shot.

A 20-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and a 31-year-old was hit in the buttocks, police said. 

Both victims were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

It’s unclear if the vicitms were innocent bystanders or intended targets.
